WHERE AND WHEN

Where
We teach R/C helicopter students at our flying site in Surrey (near Leatherhead).  The site is ideal for beginners and we also have classroom and workshop facilities.

As an alternative, you may wish to fly at a site of your choosing and we are happy to teach you at any site where it safe to fly and where you have the owners' permission.  This can be at your club (if you are a member of one) or on a private field.  However, if you wish to use your own site, it must be at least 2 miles from the nearest field from which radio controlled aircraft operate.  For full details on the selection of safe flying sites, please refer to the BMFA handbook.

When
We find that most people prefer to have lessons at the weekend so that's when we mainly teach.  However, weekday bookings are also available - contact us to discuss your requirements.

Weather
Obviously, the weather plays a big part in outdoor flying.  We ask students to call us the night before their lesson to confirm that the weather will be suitable.

Indoor Helicopter Lessons
We can teach you to fly indoor helicopters such as the Hirobo XRB and the Twister on weekends or selected weekday evenings.  Training can take place either in our small indoor area in Leatherhead or at a location of your choice (within reason).  We have access to several indoor flying areas if necessary but there will be an additional charge for these facilities.  We do not require you to have a BMFA licence for indoor electric flying tuition.
